King of Propaganda

To continue the Sat late-night conversation (no, not the one where someone walks away without saying goodbye), here's fodder about the biggest movie this weekend and highest grossing documentary ever:

9/11 does well even outside of SF:
"He said in a conference call that the film played strongly in both Democrat and Republican states, even drawing sell-out crowds in Republican strongholds like Nassau County, New York and Fayetteville, N.C., home of Fort Bragg."
Believe it .
Bigger than Dodgeball!!!!!

Marketers Unite!
Put Weinstein and Moore together and it's time to buy bullshit-dampening earplugs. But fuckin-a right-on-joseph if it really does redefine the traditional reach of documentaries.
From the NYTimes:
"Mr. Weinstein predicted that "Fahrenheit 9/11" would certainly take in $50 million, and possibly $100 million. He said he expected the film to expand to twice as many theaters next week, and ultimately to be on as many as 2,000 screens, a scale that would redefine the traditional reach of documentary films."

Please note that i haven't seen the flick. I probably will, b/c i'm curious to see how much meat there is to it, but i don't need a left-wing handjob just yet. For now, I'll stick to the IMDB photo galleries to serve that need.
