beeatch

so i'd have to disagree about bitch being gender neutral (since it originally refers to female dogs), since it tends to be used when you are trying to emasculate the recipient of the word. even when I've heard crazy drunk women fighting they used the word in the same kind of way -- "you're weak and womanly".

I would think the term "dawg" could be used gender neutrally without any negative baggage hanging on to it. Here again, Ben is way ahead of the curve.

of course, I might be saying this just for the sake of disagreeing with eric, which is always fun, and he kind of expects it besides.

"nigger" I also used to hear in my old shotwell neighborhood a lot, by boys and girls. well "my nigger" anyway. In fact, there was one day I was walking past two kids hanging out on a corner, pushing my laundry basket, and one of them says "hey nigger, you got a quarter I could borrow."

it was a little strange. i wasn't sure if he was a) screwing with me b) insulting me or c) just speaking naturally. I feel vaguely guilty about even writing the word.
